February
This moon was the herald to the birthing of new lambs. With snow on the ground, this was often one of the first signs that a long hard Winter might soon be over and that food stores would soon be able to be replenished. This moon represents our dormant possiblities, awakening from a long slumber. The light in the darkness is returning. The ground may yet be to hard to plant those seeds, but it is the foundation on which you can build for what you desire. This moon falls around the ancient Celtic holiday called Imbolc or "Ewes Milk." Called Candlemas (Candle Mass) by the Christian religion it is a time of light in the dark. The lamb represents the coming Spring, as does the snowdrop flower she has in her globe. Snowdrops are often one of the first flowers to emerge, sometimes blooming even in snow.
